Joseph Cherian is Practice Professor of Finance and Deputy CEO of Asia School of Business and Cornell University (Visiting). He was the former Practice Professor of Finance at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Prior to NUS, Joe was Managing Director, Global Head and CIO of the Quantitative Strategies Group at Credit Suisse in New York where he had direct responsibility for over US$67 billion in client assets managed to a quantitative discipline. While at Credit Suisse, Joe served on the Global Executive Committee, as well as various senior management, investments, and risk committees of the Asset Management division. He joined the financial industry in New York after an academic career in the U.S., including as an Associate Professor of Finance at Boston University. He was formerly an Executive-in-Residence and a two-term member of the Johnson Graduate School of Management’s Dean’s Advisory Council at Cornell University and is now an Emeritus Member of the Dean’s Council. Joe currently serves as an Advisor to Xen Capital, a boutique global digital wealth and alternatives asset manager in Singapore, Singapore Exchange (SGX), Asia Asset Management in Hong Kong, as well as the Mercer-CFA Institute Global Pensions Index’s Advisory Board in Australia. He has had appointments at Singapore’s Central Provident Fund (CPF) Advisory Panel and the National Research Foundation’s Early-Stage Venture Fund Evaluation Panel. He was an Independent Non-Executive Director of Bursa Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, a Scientific Advisor to Nipun Capital, a boutique hedge fund based in San Francisco, a scientific consultant to Fullerton Fund Management, a Temasek subsidiary in Singapore, and on the Journal of Alternative Investments’ Editorial Board in the U.S. Joe holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from MIT, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Finance from Cornell University

Keiichi Aritomo is Executive Director of FinCity.Tokyo which is to continuously promote Tokyo as a leading global financial city. Keiichi is also a co-founder and Board Director of JIAM (the Consortium for Japan International Asset Management Center). Keiichi is currently also Chairman of the World Alliance of International FInancial Centers (WAIFC), a consortium of 20+ financial centers across the world headquartered in Brussels.

He is also a founder and Chairman of Jazz EMP (Emerging Musicians Program) @ Tokyo Financial Street.

Prior to his current roles, Keiichi was Asia Head of Kensho Technologies, LLC, a leading financial AI solution provider, acquired by S&P for $550M in 2018. Keiichi used to be a Partner at McKinsey & Company and Deloitte, where he specialized in financial services industry and technology strategies across North America, Europe, Southeast Asia and Japan.

Keiichi obtained his master’s degree in engineering from Nagoya Institute of Technology, majoring in urban and transportation engineering.  He also holds an MBA from the University of Warwick in the UK.  He is a certified public accountant in the US.

Kit is an experienced sustainability professional familiar with international leading practices in climate change and ESG reporting, with a proven track record in developing sustainability strategies in multi-national publicly listed companies. She is currently spearheading strategic planning in the Group Sustainability team of CLP, which is one of the largest investor-owned power businesses in Asia Pacific.

Well-rounded in climate change issues including SBTi target review, TCFD implementation, carbon credit and GHG accounting, she has also helped embedding sustainability into other enterprise processes such as risk management and procurement. Prior to her current role, she was leading the development of CLP’s award-winning annual Sustainability Reports, and well-versed in latest reporting guidelines and key ESG assessments.

Kit is a delegate in the WBCSD Leadership Programme 2018. She holds BSc in Biochemistry and MPhil degrees from the University of Hong Kong, and was a Chevening scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she received an MSc degree in Development Studies.

Cindy is Executive Vice President of Origination and Listing at Bursa Malaysia. She currently leads the Product and Market Development team focused on expanding and enhancing both conventional and Islamic products and services offered by the Exchange as well as market development efforts to ensure a robust, conducive, and facilitative market infrastructure.

With over 19 years of financial market experience, she possesses a blend of experience which includes investment banking and capital market regulation in both the equity and derivatives markets, both locally and in the UK, with an understanding of market regulation, liberalisation and facilitation. Prior to her current role, Cindy served as Senior Vice President of Market Surveillance where she led a team responsible for real-time surveillance and trade monitoring of the equity market. She is often consulted in matters relating to market controls and measures and oversees international market surveillance liaising with peer regulators globally to share best practices in ensuring fair and orderly marketplaces.
